Car launcher · Android head units

The home screen your head unit should have shipped with.

Revv replaces your Android head unit's launcher with a dashboard built for driving: live gauges from the engine, maps and directions, calls from your phone, the rear camera and your apps, each one tap away and sized for a glance.

What it does

Everything for the drive, on one screen.

Big targets, high contrast and nothing that needs a second look. Tap a card to go deeper; the dock is always there to come back.

LIVE OBD-II GAUGES

Plug a low-cost ELM327 adapter into the car's diagnostic port and the cluster comes alive.

  • Bluetooth, Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi adapters
  • Speed, rpm, load, coolant, intake air and battery
  • A gear indicator from your gearbox ratios, or learnt as you drive
  • Fault codes in plain English, pending codes, and clearing them
  • Low battery and check-engine warnings

MAPS AND DIRECTIONS

OpenStreetMap maps drawn in the cluster's own style, with the next turn shown right on the home screen.

  • Search for places, addresses and areas
  • Turn-by-turn routes, with tolls avoided if you like
  • North-up or heading-up, and your recent places

YOUR PHONE, OVER BLUETOOTH

Revv reads the paired phone's calls and contacts the way a car kit does, and has the phone place calls for you.

  • Recent calls, favourites and contacts with A–Z quick scroll
  • A T9 dialer that finds people as you type
  • A call bar with an end-call button while you talk

REAR CAMERA

The head unit's own camera, live, with parking guide lines over the picture.

  • Picks a USB or external camera first
  • Rotate the picture and switch cameras
  • Guide lines on or off

APPS AND PROJECTION

Every installed app is a tap away, and phone projection starts from its own screen.

  • Start Android Auto, or the projection app you choose
  • Now playing from your music app on the home screen
  • Turn the fuel card into a shortcut to any app

MADE FOR YOUR CAR

Set it up once for your car and your screen, then forget about it.

  • Choose which cards and panels the home screen shows
  • Display size from 80% to 130%, date and time formats
  • Dims at sunset or with the light sensor
  • Tap, dialer and keyboard sounds, each on or off

For maps

Map tiles, routes and place search come from online OpenStreetMap services.

Give your head unit a proper home screen.

Install the APK on the head unit, then pick Revv when Android asks which app should be the home app.
